Unity Day Pep Rally: Inside the Classroom

Mrs. Kennebeck and her students. To keep the spirit of unity for all students at Beulah Park, Amanda Kennebeck worked with Media Associate Brandon Victorian to make sure that her students were able to fully participate in the Unity Day’s events, as it best met their needs.

Amanda’s classroom is part of the self-contained program EPICS. Her five students are all in need of a consistent area that supports their sensory needs. Because her students thrive in areas that are non-stimulating, quiet, and defined by boundaries, it was necessary to work on a communication/engagement plan so her students could still participate in the Unity Day Pep Rally. Brandon worked with two iPads and tested the FaceTime connection in multiple locations around the school to troubleshoot any connection issues before the day of the pep rally.

During the pep rally, Amanda’s students circled around the iPad in their classroom and followed along with the chants. Her students enjoyed having the ability to control the volume of the iPad, as well controlling the environmental lighting.

It is truly amazing to see the dedication Amanda and Brandon had to helping the students of EPICS. Thank you both for helping to make Beulah Park a place of unity for all students.
